In April, NEAA held its third annual Walkathon to raise money to send an amputee child to Camp No Limits – a camp just for amputee children. We are extremely pleased to announce that due to the success of our Walkathon we are able to sponsor an entire family to attend Camp No Limits.
The first recipients of the NEAA “Send an Amputee Child to Camp” sponsorship program is the McKenzie Family of Maine. Five year old William McKenzie recently needed an amputation of his leg due to a genetic condition. Attending Camp No Limits with William is his three year old brother Samuel, mother Stacee and father Dwayne.
A sincere “thank you” goes out to our donors; each one of you has given this young family an opportunity they will never forget. Additional thanks for Dean Carlson, Joyce Carlson, Dave Covino, and the “Send an Amputee Child to Camp” subcommittee who all worked so hard to make this program a success.
